
Jerry and Dorine Nichols
Jerry Nichols was born in Wisconsin and as a teen moved to Illinois, where his father was employed as the campus carpenter at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
Jerry’s productive years were varied: Welding shop 5 years, insurance 15 years, building and construction, maintaining apartments, and the last 15 years in the restaurant business, working with Dorine. His hobbies are carpentry and travel.
Dorine was born in Washington, but grew up in Nampa, Idaho. Although, Northwest Nazarene College was in her home town, she chose to attended college at Olivet Nazarene University. It was there that she met Jerry. In 1954, they were married.
Dorine worked as a bookkeeper 15 years. Then she and Jerry bought restaurants, which she enjoyed greatly. She enjoys crocheting, genealogy, travel and helping promote ROAM.
They have 6 children, 18 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren.
Jerry and Dorine report, “We have done volunteer work for a number of years, first with Mobile Missionary Assistance Program (MMAP), now with ROAM. We want to be a blessing to others.”
